Sprint finally updates Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S 4G with Android 4.1.1

The Sprint Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus S 4G would finally receive their official Jelly Bean updates starting today.

Sprint has updated its Galaxy Nexus support page with information about the device's update to Android 4.1.1, which the carrier says will be released today.

The software version is JRO03R, and the update is said to include the usual Jelly Bean goodies like Google Now and expandable notifications. The Galaxy Nexus's software update page in Sprint's forums has yet to be updated with roll out information for the phone's Jelly Bean bump.

There doesn't seem to be any Galaxy Nexus or Nexus S 4G owners that've actually received the update quite yet. Considering that the GSM versions of the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S have been running Jelly Bean for a couple of months.Many users of the Sprint models are just happy that their updates have finally been confirmed by Sprint.Upgrades phone operating system to Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean).It have a Smoother user interface,Enhanced Accessibility functions.

It has a Bi-directional text and other language support,User-installable keyboard maps,also have Expandable notifications.It has ability to turn off notifications on an application specific basis.Shortcuts and widgets can automatically be re-arranged or re-sized to allow new items to fit on home screens.It uses Android Beam to Bluetooth transfer data,Offline voice dictation,Improved voice search and camera application.

It supports High resolution Google+ contact photos,Multichannel audio,USB audio added for external sound Digital to Analog Conversion.Adobe will not be certifying the Adobe Flash Player for Android Mobile devices that either release with or update to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).

Devices that upgraded from Android 4.0 to Android 4.1, may exhibit unpredictable behavior, as it is not certified for use with Android 4.1. Adobe recommends uninstalling Flash Player on devices which have been upgraded to Android 4.1.
