Buoyed by its temporary win, Apple made a request back in November for the court to include more Samsung smartphones and tablets that it believes infringe on its invalid patents, a list that includes the Galaxy S3 in Jelly Bean flavor, the Galaxy S3 Mini, and a few other devices.
Especially for the Galaxy S3 Mini, Samsung said that it was rather odd of Apple to target a device that’s yet to be officially released in the United States. But Cupertino continued to press on by reasoning that it’s already selling on Amazon.
After arguing back and forth, and an assurance from Samsung that it’s not “making, using, selling, offering to sell or importing the Galaxy S III Mini in the United States”, a court filing shows that Apple has finally agreed to drop the Galaxy S3 Mini from the list of allegedly infringing devices.
While things are looking up for the smaller Galaxy S3 variant, Apple said that it retains the right to change its mind if the circumstance changes.
