Well, we’ve seen carriers like AT&T and Verizon offer more colors of the Galaxy S3 other than Pebble Blue and Marble White. T-Mobile is looking to keep it at just two colors. According to a leaked T-Mobile memo, they are looking to phase out the Pebble Blue color and replace it with the Titanium Gray. Now the Titanium Gray is one of the colors the Galaxy Note 2 comes in, and it looks better than the Pebble Blue in my opinion. Now this hasn’t been confirmed, so take this with a grain of salt. And if this does turn out to be true, and you have a Pebble Blue Galaxy S3 on T-Mobile, you’ll have a collector’s edition pretty soon.

The interesting thing here is that T-Mobile is only phasing out the 16GB model. They will continue selling the 32GB Galaxy S3 in both Marble White and Pebble Blue. While the 16GB version will be available in Marble White and Titanium Gray, if this leaked memo turns out to be true. Also according to the leaked memo, T-Mobile and third-party retailers should have the new Titanium Gray Galaxy S3 in stock starting January 9th. It’ll most likely be the same price as the current 16GB Galaxy S2, which T-Mobile is having a sale on right now. It’s their year-end “Zero Down Sale”.

So while AT&T has Garnet Red in addition to the Pebble Blue and Marble White Galaxy S3′s and Verizon has a Black and Brown version of the Galaxy S3 in addition to the Pebble Blue and Marble White colors, T-Mobile will be sporting a color that none of the other carriers have right now. I guess you can think of the Titanium Gray as their “exclusive” edition of the Galaxy S3. Even though the Galaxy S3 has been on sale for a few months now.

We know Google and LG’s Nexus 4 hasn’t been the easiest phone to get your hands on, and stock hasn’t been very “fulfilling” but it looks like that might be changing soon. We’re hearing a few reports that T-Mobile stores nationwide are set to receive more inventory in the coming days. Online sales have sold out in minutes and the phones been elusive to say the least, but you might have better luck at a retail store soon.

Shipping times have slipped on Google’s Play Store, and T-Mobile shelves have been empty for weeks but new reports claim they’ll have plenty soon. We’ve received a few tips, as well as TMoNews reporting the same story. That story being that multiple retail T-Mobile stores have begun receiving marketing materials for the Nexus 4, even stores that didn’t get it originally. This is leading many to believe that inventory will be arriving shortly. 

While the marketing material doesn’t say much other than “The new smartphone from Google IS HERE” it’s the fact that many different stores have all started getting new material to advertise the smartphone. Why send out all those materials if they won’t have devices to sell all these eager customers? Now lets just hope they don’t overcharge due to “supply and demand.”

What this all essentially means is hopefully more retail stores across the country, as well as stores that previously had inventory, will all be getting additional stock of the LG Nexus 4 this weekend or early next week. If that turns out true many buyers will be getting a nice Christmas present from T-Mobile and Google this holiday season.

That is of course if and only if all five differently branded versions of the Galaxy Note 2 will come with the exact same set of features. The “compatibility” issues between LTE and the Exynos quad-core platform are rumored to have been solved, so the 4412 CPU seems like a certain for all models of the Note 2.

Well, yes and no, because there still is one little spec we’re certain not all “phablets” will include. We’re talking about the 4G LTE connectivity option, unavailable yet from T-Mobile. Magenta will only be kicking off its LTE network next year.It looks like the nation’s fourth largest carrier won’t be making its version of the Note 2 LTE-capable. At all. Meaning that, even if the network will be up and running by, say, mid-2013, the second-gen Samsung phablet will be stuck to HSPA+. Which is pretty decent, don’t get us wrong, but it’s not as “flashy” as 4G LTE. And most times people aren’t patient enough to look for speed tests and such, relying only on hard facts.

Now this is far from official news, so it should be taken with caution and slight mistrust, but seeing as it comes from a pretty trustworthy source, it’s highly reliable.

Unfortunately, the “internal” leaked screen reveals nothing about pricing and availability, while the rest of the specs listed there fit with all the other versions of the Note 2. Those include a 1.6GHz quad-core CPU, a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED Plus, a 3,100mAh battery, and Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.

The T-Mobile variant of the Galaxy Note took almost a year to arrive after the original Galaxy Note, but even then many people, specially T-Mobile customers bought the phone. And many of those are probably wondering how they can root the device, which will allow them to use apps which need root access and do other modifications (such as deleting system apps). Wonder no more, as this guide will walk you through the procedure to root the T-Mobile Galaxy Note, with detailed step-by-step instructions.

The root procedure involves flashing a rooted stock firmware image, which will not trip the flash counter on your phone nor show the dreaded yellow triangle at every boot, so you don’t need to worry about losing warranty.

Compatibility

This firmware and the guide below are compatible only and only with T-Mobile Galaxy Note, model number T879. It’s not compatible with any other device. Check your device’s model number in: Settings » About phone.

How to Root T-Mobile Galaxy Note

[Important] To be sure you do not lose any data, backup your Apps and important data — bookmarks, contacts, SMS, APNs (internet settings), etc. This Android backup guide would help you.
Download and install the software Kies on your computer, which will install the necessary drivers for the phone. Skip this step if you have already installed Kies.
Download Kies
Download the rooted stock UVLG3 firmware image, which will be flashed on the phone to root it.
Download Rooted Image  |  Filename: tmob-system.img.tar
Download Odin 1.85 from → here. Odin is the software used to flash firmware, kernels, etc on Samsung devices.
Filename: Odin 1.85.zip | Size: 199 KB
Extract the contents of the Odin 1.85.zip file to a folder.
Open Odin — right-click on the Odin3 v1.85.exe file that you got after extracting the file Odin 1.85.zip, then select Run as administrator (if you don’t get the option to run as administrator, simply select Open).
Now, put the Galaxy Note in Download Mode. To do so, first turn off the phone, then connect it to the computer with the USB cable. Then press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down buttons together while powering on the phone till a Warning! screen comes up; here, press Volume Up key to continue to enter Download Mode.
After turning on the phone in download mode, you should get the message “Added!!” under Odin’s message box in the bottom left. If not, make sure you have installed Kies so that the drivers for the phone get installed.
Click the PDA button in Odin, then browse to and select the tmob-system.img.tar file you downloaded in step 3. Do not make any other changes in Odin and make sure the Re-Partition option is not selected.
Now, click Start to start flashing the UVLG3 firmware image on the phone. After the flash is completed, you will get a PASS message in Odin and the phone will reboot. Once it’s rebooted, you can disconnect the phone from the computer.
