One of the exciting things about Android is the ability for skilled community developers to dismantle and port stuff from one phone to the other. HTC Sense 4.0 was a big deal when the One family landed — and there were also ports — and now it is time for those who want a cleaner launcher to get Samsung’s own TouchWiz UX Nature from the Galaxy S III to their Ice Cream Sandwich-powered phone.
It has already been confirmed to work on a solid number of devices so your chances of success are rather high. Not long ago we brought you news of HTC Sense 4.0 being ported to the Galaxy S II. This is one of the few times that HTC Sense has made its way onto a Samsung device. Porting Samsung’s Touchwiz, however, often takes a little less time and effort. As such, it was only a matter of time before users could enjoy the launcher experience of the Galaxy S III on any device.
XDA Senior Member rani9990 has released a beta port of the popular device’s launcher for use on any device running Ice Cream Sandwich. It is easy to install as well. Users only need to put the apk file onto their devices and manually move it to /system/app using their favorite root explorer. This is the launcher that comes with the Samsung Galaxy S III (GT-i9300). It has been ported by 13 year old* rani9990 over on popular Android development and hacking forums XDA Developers. According to the developer, it works on all Android smartphones running Android 4.0.x Ice Cream Sandwich.
