Samsung Galaxy S series shipments cross 100 million



Samsung announced that Galaxy S series of smartphones cross 100 million units.This milestone comes in under three years (2 years, 7 months to be precise) as Samsung continues to dominate the smartphone space. The Korean handset vendor also announced it is currently shipping 190,000 units of the Galaxy S III every day, which remains to be the most popular smartphone in the series.

Samsung has shipped 40 million units of the Galaxy S III in seven months since its launch, the last 10 million coming in just two months. The Galaxy S II too continues to sell well, having sold 40 million units since its launch 20 months ago. Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S IV later this year that would feature a 4.99-inch full 1080p display and the latest Exynos 5 Octa processor.
