Samsung said they’d begin the upgrade to Android 4.0 for select devices in their Galaxy Tab series starting this month, and one of those tablets, the Tab 7.7, seems to be one of the first in line. Users in Germany and Austria are reporting that the upgrade is headed out to their 7.7 inch tablet via Kies.
In the world of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich has been one of the updates users want the most and still can’t get for months after the launch. Good news is that Samsung for ones is slowly but surely working on providing the latest of Android on its devices, and while there migth be some exceptions, we’re happy to see that a lot of the company’s last year’s tablets will after all get ICS in July to August.
The Galaxy Tab 7.7 is still one of the best 7-inchers around, even with more than half a year gone after its release. The Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution screen is the tablet’s highlight and the primary reason why we’re actually very excited to see how will Android 4.0 look on it.
