Nokia would bring their PureView technology to their Lumia Windows Phone devices, and now Nokia’s VP of worldwide developer relations, Richard Kerris has revealed some more details about PureView for their Lumia handsets.
Nokia has plans to launch Lumia Windows Phone devices on Sprint and Verizon in the US, although no details were given on when this would happen.
It will be interesting to see what the new Nokia Lumia devices with the PureView technology are like, this could make for some very interesting Windows Phone smartphonesWith a 41-megapixel camera, it's the highest definition camera phone released and is already on presale at Amazon UK and Expansys.
The PureView 808's talents go beyond the number of megapixels in its sensor though. The camera module has been crafted to decrease noise and blur in pictures, while allowing you to zoom into any detail in a photo.
Although we don't expect to see 41-megapixels on the Lumia range (Nokia's Vesa Jutila told us at Mobile World Congres that putting a 41-megapixel camera in the PureView 808 was just to prove that it was possible rather than being absolutely necessary for the technology to work), it seems likely a camera of at least 12-megapixels will star on the device.
Nokia's Richard Kerris also told Neowin 'people will be climbing over themselves' to get Nokia's new phones due to be released in March 2013.
Speaking in an interview with Neowin, Kerris said that Nokia’s PureView technology would be available on new Nokia Lumia handsets ‘very soon’, no specific date was given, although we suspect some of Nokia’s Windows Phone 8 devices will be the first to use their PureView technology.
