Carphone Warehouse are the latest retailer to give a date for the tablet’s release, and their website says that they’ll have the Nexus 7 in stock from 27 July; that’s a mere two days away! By itself, the tablet will cost a reasonable £199 (16GB model), or you can pick it up for free on a £20.50 p/m contract.
The Nexus 7 is hugely impressive for its price range, sporting a quad-core Cortex-A9 processor on the Nvidia Tegra 3 chipset, meaning it fieatures GeForce graphics. It also has 1GB of ram and squeezes in an impressive 216ppi on its 1280×800 7″ screen.
The Nexus 7 is Google’s first device to come pre-installed with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which promises a much quicker OS experience and an improved interface.
Now time for more retailers to get the tablet so we can start seeing some even more competitive prices for the powerful little tablet.The 16GB version of the tablet will be offered for £199 for the 16GB model or for free on a £20.50 per month tethered contract.
